Congratulations TCE and THANK YOU, Mrs. Warren!
TCE Receives the Lowe's Toolbox for Education Grant
Pictured left to right: Principal Paul Conry, Math teacher Pam Warren, and Assistant Principal Melissa Tipton.  Lowe’s Toolbox for Education has provided nearly $45 million in grants to more than 10,000 schools, benefiting more than 6 million schoolchildren. Grants are available to K-12 public schools in the United States for a wide range of improvement projects.  The grant submitted by Mrs. Warren involves increasing achievement and success for all students, particularly for those that are struggling in math.  TCE is initiating a Math & Movement program that can help meet the critical need of helping students learn basic key skills. M&M uses movement-based learning to boost students’ achievement, increase their physical fitness, and make learning math more accessible to all.  Adding the M&M program to the existing curriculum allows students to physically hop, walk, crawl, dance, or touch the patterns as they learn, using more learning modalities (visual, auditory, motor and kinesthetic) when practicing.  Students who have mastered these skills may lead activities for younger students who are beginning to learn the skills, building and cultivating patience, leadership skills, and motivation to help others learn.
